Holmand hotel is located in the centre of Mwanza nearby the shore of lake Victoria (5 min. walk). Next to the hotel is the bar and behind the building a restaurant with a nice and quiet terrace (with BBQ). The rooms are small but clean. All rooms to Karuta street (frontside) are very noisy. There are no mosquito nets. The prices for accomodation, food en beverages are low and the hotel is one of the cheapest option in the centre of Mwanza. Some negative issues: First, everywhere is loud music or TV (try to switch it off and hide the remote control) and second, the breakfast is awful.
